You're A Doll

Image
Today I'm sharing another of my samples made using the new Hunkydory Prism ink pads. I've used the For The Love Of Stamps Beautiful Babushkas stamp set on this 5" x 7" card. I've watercoloured with the ink pads by sponging some of the ink onto a shiny surface (I actually use my large acrylic block!) and using a water brush to paint with. You should never take your water brush directly to the ink pads as you will end up diluting the ink that's in the pads. I also used the pink ink to lightly ink the edges of the white layer. I will be entering this card into the following challenges: Artistic Inspirations #203 anything goes Cute Card Thursday #536 CAS Cutie Pie #124 spots and dots

Crafty Catz Challenge - Embossing Wet Or Dry

Image
It's time again for our new challenge at Crafty Catz, and this week we are anything goes with the optional twist of "embossing wet or dry". Star Stampz are our sponsors for this week and I have chosen to use The Music Conductor digi stamp to create this card. I have coloured the image with alcohol pens and added some vintage photo Distress Ink around the edge of the topper. The red paper is from the Sara Signature Just For Men 6"x6" paper pad and I've inked the edges. I chose to use dry embossing and used a Die'Sire folder that came with an old issue of Crafter's Inspiration magazine. I added some Distress Ink to that piece too to soften the harsh white of the card. Finished card size is 6"x6". I will be entering this card into the following challenges: Crafting With Friends #70 anything goes Digi Choosday week #26 anything goes Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #84 anything goes Star Stampz  celebrations Thanks for stopping...

Stay Beautiful

Image
Today I'm sharing one of my cards made for the launch of the new Hunkydory Prism ink pads. This is just a very quick and simple card, using the For The Love of Stamps "Beautiful Babushkas" stamp set stamped in 10 different colours of the inks. The cardstock used is Hunkydory white ink me! card and midnight black superior stamping card for the mats and layers. I will be entering this card into the following challenges: Crafty Addicts #49 anything goes/optional theme say it with flowers Creatalicious #141 anything goes with optional flowers Penny's Challenge #386 anything goes

Hunkydory Prism Ink Pads and Pearlescent Powders

Image
Today I'm sharing one of my samples made with the new Hunkydory Prism ink pads (they are dye based) and pearlescent powders (that are mica based). These launched at 8am today on Create and Craft TV, with more shows scheduled at 3pm and 9pm as part of the One Day Wonder (if there's any stock left...). I had such fun playing with these products! I created the background strip by blending 3 of the green coloured Prism inks onto Hunkydory white ink me! card in a random mottled pattern. I then splattered some water onto it and used kitchen paper to dab off the water, lifting some of the ink off. I then dusted some of the glistening gold pearlescent powder onto the background. Finally, I randomly stamped one of the pattern stamps from the For The Love Of Stamps "Retro Mix Tape" stamp set onto the background. I added this strip to my white card blank. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped in black Versafine and cut out by hand. The gold card has been crea...

Wishing You A Fairy Christmas

Image
Today I'm sharing the last of my samples made for the recent launch of the Hunkydory Twilight Kingdom - A Magical Christmas collection. I created my own template to make the snowglobe shaped base card (using black Matt-Tastic Adorable Scorable card). The paper is from the Perfect Backgrounds Stamping Pad and I used the A Christmas Wish stamp set to heat emboss the scene in black embossing powder. I used some of the snowfall acetate behind the frame, and added some white glitter to create a shaker element. I added the stamped sentiment to the bottom of the snow globe to finish. Sparkle and Shine

Image
I've got another of my Hunkydory Twilight Christmas samples to share today. The collection is now available to buy on Hunkydory's website. I started with a white 7"x7" card blank, cut a square aperture out the front and added Hunkydory  snowfall acetate behind the aperture. I die cut 3 of the trees from the Festive Fairies Moonstone die set in black card (adding some glitter glue details) and the prancing reindeer from the Prancing Pixies die set, and added these to the acetate front. I cut a square frame out of black card and glued this to the front, along with a stamped sentiment from the Snow Much Fun! stamp set and 3 gems in the corner. I cut a square of the co-ordinating Adorable Scorable card, stamped 3 of the trees from the Snow Much Fun! stamp set and heat embossed them in black, then glued this piece to the inside of the card. I'm stopping by today to share another of my samples made for the new Hunkydory Twilight Christmas launch. I've used one of the sheets from the Perfect Backgrounds Stamping Pad and the co-ordinating stamps to create this card. I've also added in some of Hunkydory's snowfall acetate to create the domed front, Hunkydory silver mirri card and Hunkydory midnight black superior stamping card. Hunkydory Twilight Christmas

Image
Today I'm sharing a very quick make made for the launch of the new Hunkydory Twilight Christmas collection. I've used one of the sheets from the Perfect Backgrounds Stamping Pad and heat embossed some of the reindeers from the co-ordinating stamps in black over the top. I matted the piece onto some black card and silver mirri card. A very quick 6"x6" card but it shows off the lovely backing paper. Image
It's Friday again which means it's time for our new challenge at Crafty Catz. This week we are anything goes with the optional twist of beautiful blooms. A Day For Daisies is our generous sponsor this week, and I have used the lovely Cherry Blossom Cluster digi stamp on this card. I printed the image 4 times and coloured each image with Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils. The sentiment is from the For The Love of Stamps Bright and Beautiful stamp set. The cardstock used is Creative Expressions white pearl card and Hunkydory Adorable Scorable matt-tastic for the pink. The finished size is 6"x6". Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Image
I'm sharing another of my samples made for the Hunkydory Twilight Kingdom - A Magical Christmas launch. Unfortunately, it was really difficult to get a decent picture of this card! I've used the Perfect Backgrounds stamping pad and stamps from the collection. I've also used some Hunkydory snowfall acetate for the card front. I adhered the backing paper to a piece of white card cut to the same size. I cut the piece of acetate slightly taller than this piece, scored a line along the top and adhered the folded acetate flap to the back of the backing paper covered piece, creating the card blank itself. I used the new Festive Fairies and Prancing Pixies Moonstone dies cut in black card to embellish the acetate front of the card. The sentiment has been stamped in black Versafine and added to the front of the card. I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Crafter's Castle #6 anything goes with optional more than one fold Crafty Sentiments an...

Hunkydory Twilight Kingdom - A Magical Christmas

Image
Today I'm sharing one of my samples made for the Hunkydory Twilight Kingdom - A Magical Christmas launch. This gorgeous collection was launched on Create and Craft  today at 4pm, with shows scheduled for 10am tomorrow, 2pm Thursday and 5pm Friday (if there's any stock left!). I have used the Hunkydory Twilight Kingdom - A Magical Christmas Perfect Backgrounds Stamping Pad and the co-ordinating For The Love of Stamps Twilight Kingdom - A Magical Christmas stamps to create this card. I've used a Hunkydory ink me! white 6" x 6" card blank, some midnight black For The Love of Stamps superior stamping card, Peacock Feathers and Weathered Wood Distress Inks and black Versafine ink to stamp with (using the second generation image for the stars). A pretty simple and quick card, but it's so easy to put together lovely cards very quickly with this stunning collection. Happy Father's Day

Image
Happy Father's Day to all those celebrating it today. I'm stopping by to share the card I made for my dad. I've used the For The Love Of Stamps A Work Of The Heart and Bright and Beautiful stamp sets and coloured with Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils. I masked off some of the images to create the scene, as they're all separate stamps. The sentiment is hand-written. We are also running our GDT call for July, so if you're interested then you just need to add "GDT" after your name when you link up your entry. I have used the Fenna: My New Glasses digi stamp, coloured with alcohol pens with some glossy accents added to the glasses. The papers were a free gift years ago from an issue of Papercraft Inspirations. The butterflies and flowers are fussy cut from the papers. I've also added some pearls and Tonic Nuvo drops. Crafty Catz Challenge - Use Ribbon Or Twine

Image
It's time for our new challenge over at Crafty Catz  and this week we are anything goes with the optional twist to use ribbon or twine. Crafty Ribbons is sponsoring us this week and they are offering a fantastic prize. The image I have used is from Whimsie Doodles, who have unfortunately now closed their shop. I have coloured with Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils, adding glitter glue details. I used my Scan N Cut to cut out all the mats and layers. The papers are a mixture - some from Papercraft Inspirations Magazine, some from Tilda and some from Hunkydory. I also added some silver metallic card, as well as the pretty silver ribbon. Have A 'Berry' Happy Birthday

Image
Today I'm sharing a card that's a bit different to the usual ones I make, as I've mainly used a paper pad for this card. No stamping or colouring on this one! I've used the gorgeous Heartfelt Creations Berry Café 12"x12" paper pad. It's my only Heartfelt paper pad but I really do love it - the papers are stunning and all the little panels and embellishments make it so easy and quick to put cards together. I've added a die cut oval, a bow and some Tonic Studios oyster grey Nuvo drops. Everything else (apart from the 6"x6" card blank and some white card) is from the paper pad (I have inked a few of the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink). I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Always Happy Birthday anything goes (optional summer birthday) Crafting With Friends  #68 anything goes Cute Card Thursday  #532 hello summer Crafty Friends  #85 happy birthday Crafty Sentiments  summer Thanks for stopping by to...

Crafty Catz Challenge - Black and White

Image
Our new challenge starts today at Crafty Catz , and this week we are anything goes with the optional theme of Black and White. Our generous sponsor is Crafty Sentiments. I had a bit of a play for the first time with my new Scan n Cut CM900 when I was making this card. I cut some of the mats and layers out on the machine, as well as the flowers and leaves. I must say I am impressed with it so far! The centre die is Sue Wilson's Oslo die, with her Happy Birthday Mini Expressions die in the middle. I cut the sentiment 3 times in black card and layered them up to make it more 3D. I have also used Sue Wilson's Diamond Squares background and the Jubilee Petite Striplet for the decorative edges. Some Cosmic Shimmer aurora twinkles glitter glue and some Nuvo oyster white pearl drops were added to finish.
