Happy Birthday

Image
Today I'm sharing a card mainly made using die cutting. I really love creating lacy and intricate cards using die cuts - it can be so much fun building up all the pretty shapes to create a really detailed card.  I used lilac Centura Pearl card and Creative Expressions icicle pearl card to give a lovely pearly effect. The border dies used are by Die'Sire and came free with an old issue of Crafter's Inspiration magazine. The dies used to create the focal element are Sue Wilson's Bermuda dies, Sue Wilson's Austrian border, corner and tag dies and Sara's Signature Shabby Chic Collection doily die. The sentiment is a Die'Sire die that I've cut several times (3 I think it was) and layered them together to create depth. I added some Tonic Studios Nuvo white pearl drops to finish. The finished card measures 5" x7". I would like to enter this card into the following challenges: Always Happy Birthday anything goes with optional Birthday ca

This week our theme is anything goes with the optional twist  to "use something yellow" and  Bugaboo are our sponsors. I have used the Mouse - Big Flower digi stamp and coloured with alcohol pens. The patterned paper used is one of the free papers from issue 10 of the For The Love Of Stamps magazine. The finished card size is 5" x 7". Baseball Cap Card

Image
Today I'm sharing a card made recently for a commission. I was told the recipient always wears a baseball cap, so I put my thinking cap on (if you'll pardon the pun lol) and came up with this design! I created a fold back card using my Hunkydory Adorable Scoreboard. I drew the template for the cap myself, and paper pieced the different parts together. The papers used are from Sara's Signature "Just For Men" collection 6"x6" paper pad. The letters and numbers were cut on my Scan N Cut. Wee Stamps

Image
Today I'm sharing a sweet girly card that has quite a vintage feel to it. The digi stamp used is a freebie from Wee Stamps and is called "Jillian". I have coloured with Spectrum Noir alcohol pens. The papers are from a pad I picked up in Wilkinsons a few years back. The doily die is from Sara's Signature Shabby Chic collection, the border a Die'Sire die and the swirls are Spellbinders Venetian accents (one of the very first die sets I bought!). I have die cut the flowers and hand-shaped them. It's time for our new challenge to start over at  Crafty Catz , and this week we are anything goes with the option to use dies or punches. Our generous sponsors are A Day For Daisies, who kindly supplied the team with some lovely images to play with - I've used the  Tender Thoughts  digi stamp. I coloured the image in using alcohol pens. The patterned paper is from the Heartfelt Creations Berry Café 12"x12" paper pad, and I've added some spun sugar Distress Ink round the edges. I also added some gems in the corners to finish. The card size is 6"x6". Best Teacher

Image
Today I'm sharing a "Best Teacher" card, perfect for this time of year as the school children will soon be breaking up for the summer holidays. The patterned papers used are from the For The Love Of Stamps Monochrome Perfect Backgrounds Stamping Pad. The letters were cut using my Brother Scan N Cut. The bunting die is a Joanna Sheen Signature Die, cut once in black and once in red spotty paper, then the red die cut was cut up and layered on top of the black piece, off-set slightly. I also added some lovely polka dot ribbon and some Tonic Nuvo pearl drops. Stay Beautiful

Today I'm sharing one of my cards made using the new Hunkydory Prism Pearlescent Powders. I cut out the 3 hearts using my Brother Scan N Cut. I spritzed some of the diluted pearlescent powders onto the hearts, then added some more of the dry powder when it was still wet. I tried to make each heart slightly different with the colours of powder used. I pretty much made it up as I went along but I'm pleased with how it turned out - I think the hearts look quite like metal. In real life they are a lot more sparkly though! The sentiment is from the For The Love Of Stamps "Beautiful Babushkas" stamp set and I've used black Versafine to stamp with. Crafty Catz Challenge - Think Summertime

Image
Our new challenge starts today over at Crafty Catz, and this week we are anything goes with the optional twist to "think summertime" (which shouldn't be too hard given the lovely weather we've had lately in the UK!). Di's Digi Stamps are our sponsors for this week. I have used the Justrite Grand Sentiments stamps on this card. I layered the stamped elements up on top of a die cut Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 in kraft card. The papers used are from the Hunkydory Garden Treasures 8"x8" paper pad (an absolute favourite of mine!). I've also added some ribbon (some old scrap found in my stash!) and white Tonic Nuvo drops in the corners. Today I'm sharing a box made using the new Hunkydory Prism ink pads. The stamps used are For The Love Of Stamps Retro Mix Tape . I stamped the images using several different colours of the Hunkydory Prism inks - canary yellow, dusky rose, blue lagoon, purple velvet and French navy . I used  Hunkydory midnight black superior stamping card to create the box itself and  Hunkydory ink me! card to stamp onto. I used the canary yellow ink to ink around the edges of the sentiment. Crafty Catz Challenge - Summer Fun

Image
It's time for our new challenge to start at Crafty Catz , and this week our theme is anything goes with the optional twist of "Summer Fun". The Paper Shelter are our sponsors this week, and I have used the Happy Times - Beach Boy digi stamp to create this card. I coloured the image in using Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils. The patterned papers are from For The Love Of Stamps Splendid Stripes Perfect Backgrounds Stamping Pad. I used the For The Love Of Stamps Set Sail mask with Hunkydory Prism ink to create the anchor patterned paper. The anchor stamp is from the co-ordinating Set Sail stamp set and I've used Hunkydory Prism inks with a waterbrush to colour it in. The bunting die is by Joanna Sheen. You're Beautiful Inside And Out

Image
I have another of my Hunkydory Prism samples to share today. I've used the For The Love Of Stamps "Beautiful Babushkas" stamp set for this card, along with the Hunkydory Prism ink pads and pearlescent powders. For the background, I spritzed the pearlescent powders (that I had diluted with water) onto a piece of white ink me! card. I also used the pearlescent powders (as well as some of the ink pads) to colour in the stamped image. It really is so easy to paint with these products - all you have to do is dilute them with water so that they become like a watercolour paint. You're A Classic

Image
Today I'm sharing a clean and simple card made using the new Hunkydory Prism Pearlescent Powders. I used the For The Love Of Stamps Retro Mix Tape stamp set, and coloured the cassette tapes in using the pearlescent powders that I had diluted with water to create a thin paint. The colours I have used are from set 2, set 3 and set 4.  I used black Versafine ink to stamp with. You Rock

I've got another card to share today that's been made using the new Hunkydory Prism ink pads and pearlescent powders. These lovely new goodies should be available to buy on Hunkydory's website from tomorrow, but you'll have to grab them before they sell out! I created the background by adding water to the red pearlescent powder and spraying the solution onto Hunkydory white ink me! card. The stamps used on this card are For The Love Of Stamps "Retro Mix Tape". I've coloured the cassette tape in using the ink pads (for the black/grey parts) and used the pearlescent powders for the red part.
