Bebunni

Image
I'm sharing quite a quick and simple card today (quick apart from the colouring of course!) The stamp is from the Crafter's Companion Bebunni range and was coloured with coloured pencils. I layered the heart onto some silver, and layered that onto some striped patterned paper. The silver mat behind the patterned piece was done using an old border punch. For the background I have just embossed some pink card using a folder that came with my Gemini machine. Pearl drops and silver glitter glue were the finishing touches to this simple design. I would like to enter this card into the following challenges: Crafting from the heart #181 anything goes http://craftingfromtheheartchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/30th-october-team-b-dr-digi-challenge.html The cutie pie challenge blog #116 think pink http://cutiepiechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/search?updated-max=2017-10-16T08:30:00%2B01:00&max-results=1

Snowy Scene

Image
I'm sharing a stamped card today. I used a set by Card-io that I hadn't used before. I started by stamping the foliage in a circle to get the framed effect. I then used inks with masks (just ripped up pieces of paper!) to create the light and shade on the hills. I built the scene up using the different stamps and using a combination of first generation and second generation stamping to create depth. I finished it off by adding some glitter glue and inking the edges of the piece before matting it onto the card blank. The finished card is 6x6 inches. I would like to enter this one into the following challenges: Crafty Creations #353 Anything Goes http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #356 http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/chnc-challenge-356.html Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/chnc-challenge-extra-for-...

Dinosaur Card

First off, some news! I am very excited to have been chosen to be part of Hunkydory's For The Love Of Stamps Design Team! I can't wait to share my samples using their gorgeous stamps! I would also like to thank the team over at Crafty Friends Challenge Blog for choosing me as one of their top 3 in challenge 68. The post for the MDF plaque that I entered can be found here: https://lillys-craftcorner.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/mdf-plaque.html Now onto the card itself. For this post I am showcasing a card with a hand-coloured image. I love colouring in stamps, whether it be with alcohol markers, coloured pencils or watercolour pencils (or any other colouring medium I can get my hands on!). The image is off one of Crafter's Companions CD roms that come with their magazine - it's from their Scruffy Little Kitten Range. I used coloured pencils to colour this one in; it's surprising what nice effects you can get just with cheap children's colouring pencils! I matt...

MDF Plaque

Image
I thought I would share a piece of home décor I made - an MDF plaque. I really enjoyed this project, but it definitely wasn't a quick make! I started by painting the MDF shape with acrylic paint, then layered up torn patterned papers (which were also inked) onto the base. I added lace, die cuts (using Spellbinders decorative labels 8 for the vellum border behind the pink layer and Sara's Signature Collection Shabby Chic doily), hessian and a pearl swirl (made using Tonic nuvo drops) to create some texture. The label was created using a Justrite Amazing Paper Grace stamp and cut out using the matching die. I stamped the sentiment in brown and cut it out using a Sue Wilson oval die. I added a torn oval behind this to tie in with the shabby chic look. The white swirls on the oval are hand painted using acrylic paint. The finishing touches were some die cut paper and vellum flowers that I layered up and added some die cut leaves below them. I will be e...

Bauble Card

Image
I tend to make simple one fold card bases, but for possibly the first time ever I've made a side stepper card for this one! I started with one of Crafter's Companions square side step kraft card blanks and used inked cream card for my mats and layers. The baubles (from a set by Sizzix and Hero Arts) were stamped with gilding flakes onto kraft card and cut out with the matching dies. I added some colouring pencil details to the baubles. The sentiment is also stamped with gilding flakes. Once again I have embellished the card with poinsettias cut using Sue Wilson dies and have inked their edges to bring them to life. I would like to enter this card into Crafty Cardmakers challenge #197 fancy folds, which can be found here: http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/197-fancy-folds.html

Pirate card

Image
This card is definitely a different style to the very ornate one posted yesterday, but it's always nice to make a card that's more scaled back and not covered in flowers and swirls! I layered up the background with patterned papers and embossed kraft card with thin black mats. The image is a digi stamp from Crafter's Companion's Angelica and Adam range (off one of their CD roms that come with the Crafter's Inspiration magazines). I coloured it in using coloured pencils (not a quick thing to do - it was definitely a labour of love!). I will be entering this card into the following challenges: Crafty Creations Challenges #352 Anything Goes. A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge #53 Anything Goes. The first Christmas card of the year

Image
Welcome to my craft blog! For my first post I thought I would share my first Christmas card of the year. This card uses focuses on one of my favourite techniques - die-cutting! For me nothing else screams Christmas like red and gold, and the off-white card gives it a modern twist. I don't usually use mirror card so this card is an exception. Unfortunately it's also hard to photograph! The frame die is an old Sizzix framelits die and the poinsettias were cut using some Sue Wilson dies (I just love these poinsettias and they end up on almost every Christmas card I make!). I used a Crafter's Companion Create a Card die (called Garden Party) to cut the detail that's behind the frame and in the corners of the card. The swirls were cut using a Spellbinders die and the gold leaves were made using Sue Wilson's olive branch dies. Tonic Nuvo drops were used to finish the card - I love creating faux pearls with these. The card is 6x6 inches in size. Thanks for read...
