Bugaboo Sweet Unicorn

Image
Good morning all - thanks for stopping by today and hope you are all well. I'm just about recovered from a nasty stomach bug that came on last Thursday - there seems to be a lot of these illnesses about at the moment. We have a new challenge for you over at Crafty Catz  - anything goes with the optional twist of something new, and this week is my last week as Guest Designer at Crafty Catz. I have used my new Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils for this one as well as some papers I was yet to use..  Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring us this week and I have chosen to use the adorable Sweet Unicorn digi stamp. The pretty papers are from a kit I got as a free gift at Crafting Live Doncaster last July - they match so perfectly with the image. I made some of my own paper flowers to embellish the card, and added glitter glue, ribbon and Nuvo pearl drops too. A super girly card which I really like! I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Noor! Design anyt...

Crafty Catz Challenge #400

Image
We have another challenge for you over at Crafty Catz this week, and our theme anything goes with the optional twist of male birthday. I know some of us struggle making men's cards sometimes so this is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself! We are also looking for a guest designer for next month - I've had great fun being GDT for January so why not give it a go, all the team are very supportive. Now onto my make - I've used the  Set Sail stamp set by Hunkydory for my card. I stamped the compass, anchor and bottle all over a piece of white card and coloured them in using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, to create a sort of patterned paper. I added a grey mat to this piece, and added this to my 5"x7" card blank with foam pads. I stamped my sentiment, also matted that with grey and added that to the card with foam pads. A few Tonic Nuvo drops were added to the sentiment piece to finish it off. I would like to enter this into the following chal...

Mari Ko Creations Floral Collection

Image
It's new release day over at Mari Ko Creations - there are lots of lovely new digi stamps available in the shop. For my card I have used the floral collection 1 (the large rose, flower 4 and flower 5). I coloured the flowers in using Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils. I die cut a circle aperture into Centura Pearl white card and layered the flowers around the circle. The celebrate die is from Sue Wilson's birthday shadow box set, and I added a grey drop shadow behind the Centura Pearl layer. A few gems and Tonic Nuvo drops were added around the flowers. I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Penny's Challenge #362 anything goes http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-362.html Dream Valley Challenge #170 anything goes http://dreamvalleychallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/challenge-170-anything-goes.html Allsorts Challenge #450 no patterned papers http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/week-450-n...

Crafty Catz Challenge - Anything Goes With Optional Twist

Image
Over at  Crafty Catz we have a new challenge for this week - anything goes with the optional twist of "one for the ladies". Our sponsor this week is Rick St Dennis, and I have used the Best Frenemies digital stamp. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol pens to colour the image, and added some glitter glue to their angel wings. The grey dotty paper is from a tilde pad, and the pink paper is from an old  Papermania pad. The lovely bright pink card is Centura Pearl. I added ribbon, a doily cut from vellum and a handmade paper flower. The flower die is Heatfelt Creations vintage florets - I layered up flowers cut from the pink patterned paper, then the pink Centura Pearl card and then a vellum layer on top. Some grey dotty leaves were added beneath the flower. The finished card is 7"x7". I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Crafty Creations #358 anything goes http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/challenge-358-anything-g...

Hand Sewn Card

Image
Something a bit different for me today - a card with some hand sewing on. I have made one other card similar to this one (which can be found here: https://lillys-craftcorner.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/thank-you.html ) but apart from that it's a very different style of card to my usual. The butterfly die is one of the free dies that came with my Gemini die cutting machine, and I shaped the wings for a bit of dimension. The flower is cut using Heartfelt Creations vintage florets dies, with the lower layer cut from vellum and the top layer cut from pearly paper with some ink added to the edges. The leaves are cut using Sue Wilson's olive branch dies (another of my favourite dies - I turn to these time and time again!). Mats of silver and green core'dinations were added to the pink panel, with some Tonic Nuvo drops in the corners of the card to finish it off. The finished card is 6"x6". I would like to enter this card into the following challenges: Pammie'...

Mouse Card

Image
Today I'm sharing a cute little mouse card - I really love this stamp! The mouse stamp came free with an old issue of Papercraft Inspirations and is coloured with coloured pencils. I edged that piece with some chalk pastels to make is slightly off-white at the edges. I added hessian behind for some texture. The doily die is one of my favourites, from Sara's Signature Shabby Chic collection, and boy do I use that die a lot! The flowers are all die cut or cut with punches, inked and shaped by hand. The little sprigs are cut using Sue Wilson's olive branch dies. A few Tonic Nuvo drops were added to the corners of the card and the centres of the flowers. I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Cute Card Thursday #511 anything goes http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/challenge-511-anything-goes.html Allsorts Challenge #449 something new http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/week-449-something-new.html  (the green patterned...

All Dressed Up Fairy Swing

Image
I am GDT over at Crafty Catz Challenge for January, and our first challenge this month is anything goes with the optional twist to add sparkle after Christmas. All Dressed Up is sponsoring us this week, and I have used the fairy swing digi stamp to create this card.  I coloured the image in using my new Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils. The blue papers are from the Heartfelt Creations Berry CafĂ© paper pad. The doily die is from Sara's Signature Shabby Chic collection. The lacy border die is a Die'sire Create-a-Card die called Garden Party. The flowers were die cut, inked and shaped by hand. The centres are done using Tonic Nuvo drops. The leaves are cut using Sue Wilson olive branch die. I added plenty of sparkle using Cosmic Shimmer twinkles glitter glue. The finished card is 5"x7". Hope you like it! Don't forget to join in with this week's challenge over at Crafty Catz Challenge .

Peacock Notebook

Image
Something a little bit different today - a decorated notebook. The white card is Centura Pearl - I really love the pearly sheen of this card. The peacock die is from the Kimono range by Crafter's Companion. I cut the die out twice - once in brown for the branch and once in white for the peacock's body. I added blue and green inks to the peacock to create the ombre effect. Some silver glitter glue was added to the tail feathers for some bling. A very simple design but I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Inspiration Destination #141 anything goes http://inspirationdestinationchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/141-ag-kinda-cute-by-patricia.html Crafty Gals Corner #156 anything goes http://craftygalscornerchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/challenge-156-anything-goes.html I will be back on Friday with my first card as GDT for Crafty Catz Challenge - exciting!

Lacy Sweet Peas

Image
Today I'm sharing the last of my samples using the For The Love Of Stamps Birth Flowers stamps, and this one uses the sweet pea stamp. These stamps are now available to buy on Hunkydory's website. I used a similar layout to another of my cards, which can be found here: https://lillys-craftcorner.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/lily-of-valley.html  I coloured the flowers in using coloured pencils. The pink and purple cardstock is some of Hunkydory's Adorable Scorable. The square die is Spellbinders adorning squares. A couple of pearls in the corners were the finishing touches. I would like to enter this one into the following challenges: A Bit More Time To Craft #59 anything goes http://abitmoretimetocraft.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/a-bit-more-time-to-craft-challenge-59.html Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #72 anything goes http://lilpatchofcraftyfriends.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/challenge-72.html
