Red Roses

This card is definitely a different one for me, but I really enjoyed making it! I tend to just stamp onto white card (or maybe kraft), so stamping onto bright red made an interesting change.




I created the 3 panels by stamping the For The Love of Stamps Birth Flowers rose stamp onto 3 separate pieces of red Hunkydory card. I added a bit of shading using a grey and a white pencil (although this is hard to see from the photo) and added a black mat to each panel. The background paper is from the monochrome For The Love of Stamps Perfect Backgrounds stamping pad. I gave it a slight black border before sticking it to the card blank. I stamped the word stamps in the bottom right hand corner of the 5"x7" card blank. I hope you like it!

Hello all, hope you are well. As some of you may know, I was GDT for Crafty Catz Challenge for January. But they have asked me to stay on as part of their design team...and of course I said yes! We have a new challenge for you today - it is anything goes with the optional theme of "one for the girls". This week Star Stamps is sponsoring us, and they kindly gave us some beautiful images to play with. On my card I have used the Belle Chibi digi stamp. The digi stamp was printed onto Canson "C" à grain paper (it has a bit of a "tooth" to it so is better for use with coloured pencils than a super smooth card) and I coloured the image in using my Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils. I really enjoyed colouring this one in - I'm pretty happy with how the pleats turned out but I definitely need to practice a bit more! I inked around the edges to give more of a vintage look. Crafty Catz Challenge - Layer It Up

It's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week our theme is anything goes with the optional twist of "layer it up". Digi Doodle Studios  is our sponsor for this week and they kindly gave the team our images to play with - I've chosen to use the beautiful Bella Butterfly digi stamp. I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol pens to colour the image. The butterfly paper came free with an old issue of Papercraft Inspirations and the other patterned papers are from the Bebunni range off a Crafters Companion CD rom. I used some pink core'dinations for the mats. The part of Spellbinders adorning squares that I cut down. I added some white Nuvo drops to finish. The card size is 6"x6". Crafty Catz Challenge - Black and White

Our new challenge starts today at Crafty Catz , and this week we are anything goes with the optional theme of Black and White. Our generous sponsor is Crafty Sentiments. I had a bit of a play for the first time with my new Scan n Cut CM900 when I was making this card. I cut some of the mats and layers out on the machine, as well as the flowers and leaves. I must say I am impressed with it so far! The centre die is Sue Wilson's Oslo die, with her Happy Birthday Mini Expressions die in the middle. I cut the sentiment 3 times in black card and layered them up to make it more 3D. I have also used Sue Wilson's Diamond Squares background and the Jubilee Petite Striplet for the decorative edges. Some Cosmic Shimmer aurora twinkles glitter glue and some Nuvo oyster white pearl drops were added to finish.
